The full story
Exploring where AI is actually useful inside Unreal Engine
AURA connects AI directly with Unreal Engine tools rather than treating the engine as something a generic chatbot has to guess about from outside.
The alpha is designed to help developers create and debug Blueprint visual scripts, generate logic graphs and inspect project assets from within the editor.
Marc Thornton has contributed to the early product stage by evaluating onboarding, practical workflows and areas where the experience can be refined. The emphasis has been on real use: where assistance saves time, where additional project context changes the quality of an answer, and where an AI feature risks adding friction instead of removing it.
The work remains early-alpha product contribution rather than a claim that Digital SHIFT created the underlying platform.
For us, the project is useful R&D because it sits at the boundary we care about: applying AI to a specialist workflow only where it genuinely improves the work, rather than adding AI as a feature in search of a problem.
