The full story
Turning cultural ideas into visible community projects
Community projects have many of the same practical problems as commercial ones: different stakeholders, limited resources, competing priorities and a gap between a good idea and something that can happen in the real world.
Marc Thornton served voluntarily on the board of The Arts Poole CIC as Marketing Director. His work involved the council, grant bodies, artists and members of the public across events, collaborations and installations.
The role brought together creative practice, community participation and the practical coordination needed to move projects from intention to delivery.
The retained record does not support adding metrics or a more detailed chronology, so the case study stays deliberately modest. Its relevance to Digital SHIFT is the cross-disciplinary part: bringing different groups around a shared outcome and helping creative ideas survive the practical work required to make them real.
